Some trains tickets can be put on hold. This is useful if you're not ready to confirm a ticket immediately, but don't want to lose out.

To put a train ticket on hold follow the steps below:

  1. Add the train ticket to your basket.

  2. Continue to the checkout.

  3. Select the traveller and the form of payment. It's important to note that you can't change these later.

  4. Select the hold button. If a hold button is not displayed, this means the train operator will not allow the selected ticket to be put on hold.

The train ticket will normally be held for 24 hours. A countdown timer will be displayed, indicating how much time you have remaining to confirm the ticket.

If you do not confirm the ticket before the remaining time has elapsed, it will be cancelled automatically.

To confirm a train ticket that's on hold, just go back to your basket and checkout the ticket in the normal way.
